Step 1 - Understanding where you are today
One of the first things you need to do before moving forward with a plan to improve your team is building an understanding of where you are today.
The things driving you inside the team and the drivers you have external to the team.
- Do you have a preferred and defined tech stack?
- Does your team communicate well internally and externally?
- How does work flow into the team?
- etc.
I have always found mind-maps are great tool for visualising something like this, in this case capturing some of the key influences and considerations that impact building great teams.
